Notice of the Account-book of Andrew Halyburton, Conservator of the Privileges of the Scottish Nation in the Low Countries, 1493-1504

Abstract

The author uses the ledger of a Scottish merchant, Andrew Halyburton, to discuss the imports and exports from Scotland in the sixteenth century. He notes that in addition to trading goods between Scotland and Europe, Halyburton also performed some of the functions of an international banker.
