Abstract


The volume referenced in the title is a set of accounts detailing the money spent on the construction and repair of the King's palaces and castles in Scotland, from January 1674 to March 1679. The author explains that while many of the craftsmen who worked in on Holyrood Palace at this time were Scots, some specialist craftsmen and materials had to be imported from abroad to complete the project. He also mentions the wages and prices of some materials that are noted in these accounts.
