Abstract

A report on the Late Bronze Age hoard found in Peebleshire in 1864. The article compares the 28 pieces found in the hoard to other hoard finds from the UK and central and northern Europe. The author speculates that most of the bronze pieces found may be the metal elements of a horse harness and vehicle mountings from a cart. A date of the 7th-6th centuries BC is discussed in relation to these finds.
