Abstract

The article begins by briefly discussing Rev Alexander Pope's character before moving on to the interactions that this clergyman had with Alexander Pope the poet. Some of the letters the two exchanged are quoted and the gifts given from the poet to the reverend are also described. The author concludes by speculating whether the two might have been distantly related but is unable to provide any conclusive evidence that they were.
