About the Journal
SAIR is an online, Gold Open Access, fully peer-reviewed journal and has been publishing excavation reports of national significance since 2001.
Focus and Scope
SAIR publishes reports and large-scale surveys of significant excavations. SAIR is particularly well suited for papers which require large volumes of published data to support their arguments, or which have a large number of images and/or tables.
Scottish Archaeological Internet Reports was established in 2000 by a consortium comprising the Society of Antiquaries of Scotland, Historic Scotland [now Historic Environment Scotland] and the Council for British Archaeology to provide a publication route for Open Access, peer-reviewed information more suited to an electronic format than a traditional print journal.
Please see our Journal Policies page for details of the Journal's peer review process, Open Access policy and other journal information.
