Abstract

The excavation of this Iron Age site reveals the structure of the crannog as well as uncovering several finds that contribute to the understanding of the domestic and agricultural lives of the people who lived here. The article also includes some speculation about how much contact the owners of the crannog had with the Romans, based on the presence of a bronze ornament from central Europe found at the site. Appendices include information on the botanical composition of the peat from the loch and the charcoal and seeds found in the hearth.
