Abstract

David Laing summarises the information given to him by John Riddell about the daughters of King James I. There are several discrepancies in surviving records about the names, order of birth and marriages of James I's six daughters, which the author attempts to reconcile. He also provides details from primary sources of the princesses' characters and achievements.
