Abstract

Lady John Scott describes an excavation in 1862 that unearthed three cists, the remains of an enclosing wall, and what she suggests may be the remains of a chimney. Several artefacts were found during the excavation, as well as deposits of human and animal bones. A second site nearby was also excavated at the time, although only small cists were discovered.
