Abstract


A list of protocol books from the City of Edinburgh, information on the number of folios and the dates they were written. The author gives an overview of the contents of these protocol books, mainly consisting of legal documents relating to property ownership. A list of property owners in central Edinburgh and direct quotes from the protocol books are included to illustrate the kind of information that can be gained from this resource.
