Abstract

The author suggests that St Margaret's Well could be moved to a new location in Holyrood Park to better preserve the structure. It is noted that in its current location the well has been damaged by the North British Railway that runs nearby and that some of the associated machinery that operates close to the structure is likely to destroy the well. A committee of Fellows agreed that the well should be moved and appealed to the Chief Commissioner for Works and Public Buildings, who proposed a potential site for relocation in Holyrood Park.
