Abstract

After a report on the illustrations and printing of part I of the Proceedings was presented by the Council, the Society's Senior Vice-President Lord Murray delivered the anniversary address. He congratulated the Society on the printing of the Proceedings, noting that it would be a valuable resource for archaeological research, particularly for researchers not based in Edinburgh. He asserts his belief that the society will prove beneficial to Scottish archaeology through its preservation of historical artefacts and documents, but also by inspiring others to do the same. He then remembers the Fellows who passed away in this year. He concludes by emphasising the benefits of the Museum's new location for art students studying historical design.

There follows the meeting minutes for the meeting held December 13, 1852, including the election of Alexander Henry Rhind.
