Abstract

Report on the excavation of a rough circle of ten stones, one of which was carved, in Monzie, Perthshire. A causeway leading from the circle to an outlying slab with cup and ring mark carvings was identified. A stone cist within the circle contained burnt human bone and the remains were identified as an adult and a child aged six to eight years. Finds included pottery, charcoal (mainly hazel) and a flint flake.
