Abstract

At the Anniversary meeting, the Secretary David Laing gave brief obituaries of several notable Fellows of the Society who died during the previous session. New Fellows were then elected, and the Vice-President presented two portraits that the Society had commissioned: one of David Laing and one of Alexander Henry Rhind. A report on the visitors and donations to the Society's museum was also presented.

 

Meeting notes for 14 December, 1874 are appended. At this meeting, it was announced that Arthur Mitchell would be the first speaker to present the Rhind Lectures. Some information about the lectures and Rhind's bequest are included.
