Abstract

The author provides his observations on the culture of the nomadic Naga people from the eastern Himalayas. The paper discusses their diet, personal ornaments and clothing, social and political structures, domestic buildings and burial practices. As part of his investigation into this group, R Graham Thoms exhumed a Naga grave and presented the contents to the Society. After this paper was presented, there was a short debate about the group’s ethnological origins.
