Abstract

Two knolls were excavated under the supervision of Lady John Scott. Both contained graves – one contained fourteen and the other two – as well as stone foundations. The author compares the graves to those found at another site excavated by Lady John Scott (see Volume 5, pp. 222-224). He speculates that the graves at Hartlaw could be from the transition period between pre-Christian and early Christian burial practices. A note written by Lady John Scott and a site plan she produced are included with the paper.
