Abstract

John Stuart communicated James Matheson's continued excavation of standing stones on the Isle of Lewis, where he reported a second set of standing stones nearby the Calanais stones that he described in a previous paper (see pp.110-112). The article questions whether some deliberate markings on these stones might be a writing system similar to Ogham, but the specialist that the author consulted argued that these markings were not Ogham.
