Much of the pottery from the site was thought to be lost, which hampered their interpretation of the extant sherds and the relationship of the fort and associated hut sites to others in the Western Isles. Several hundred of the lost pottery sherds have now been recovered and are described here, together with a discussion of some of the more general problems relating to the later prehistoric pottery sequence in the Islands.
