Abstract

A report on the excavation of the broch and hill fort at Torwoodlee. A hut contemporary to the fort and a burial cist were also discovered on the site during the investigation. The fort and hut were dated to the Early Iron Age but the excavators concluded that he broch and cist were later constructions. The report concludes with catalogues of the sherds of Roman pottery found during the excavations in 1891 and 1950.
