Abstract


A description of the unexpectedly discovery of a sandstone sarcophagus found in a churchyard in Govan. Although there were no remains inside the sarcophagus, the author provides a description of the sculpted scenes on the exterior. He then goes on to draw comparisons with other sculpted finds including other sarcophagi and stone pillars.
