Abstract

William Waring Hay-Newton passed along notice of records from the Burgh Court of Haddington that evidenced the church's possession of several chalices and the titular altar-plate. Newton saw these as a sign of the burgh's wealth and the pool of artistic talent available to the community. Below this summary of his findings, Newton reproduced several entries from the records, in Scots and with typography preserving scribal abbreviations.
